Mercedes Benz Web3 Arm To Release NFT Collection.

The generative art collection, titled “Maschine” by Dutch artist Harm van den Dorpel is inspired by automotive ideas and will be made available by Mercedes Benz Web3 Arm with the help of the digital art community Fingerprints DAO.

An automotive-inspired collection of generative art non-fungible tokens (NFTs) will be made available by the digital art collective Fingerprints DAO in association with the German automaker Mercedes Benz, Dutch artist Harm van den Dorpel, and Fingerprints DAO.

The van den Dorpel collection, dubbed “Maschine,” is supported by Mercedes-Benz NXT, the automaker’s new Web3 division that specialises in digital collections and virtual experiences.

The artwork evokes a wheel in motion, and the collection includes 1,000 distinct Ethereum-based tokens that explore issues of velocity and perception. On June 7, the sale commences as a Dutch auction.

To create a series of generative art non-fungible tokens (NFTs) based on automotive notions, German automaker Mercedes Benz, Dutch artist Harm van den Dorpel, and digital art collective Fingerprints DAO are working together.

The van den Dorpel collection, titled “Maschine,” is sponsored by Mercedes-Benz NXT, the automaker’s new Web3 division that specialises in digital collectibles and virtual experiences.

The artwork evokes a wheel in motion, and the collection includes 1,000 distinct Ethereum-based tokens that explore issues of velocity and perception. On June 7, the sale commences as a Dutch auction.

Mercedes-Benz NXT intends to offer three “core” collections that were conceived, created, and managed by the creative studio 0xNXT, according to a series of tweets. Additionally, it intends to integrate satellite and ancillary projects into its NFT ecosystem.

Van den Dorpel explained to CoinDesk that his practise of producing generative art is related to Mercedes-Benz’s emphasis on innovation and aesthetics.

The opportunity to create a really dynamic experimental art installation and receive the trust to do so was an honour, according to van den Dorpel. In terms of ownership, provenance, and conservation, “the technical features provided by blockchain have helped consolidate the fluid character of digital art in all its variations.”

Working with Mercedez-Benz NXT, according to the founder of Fingerprints DAO, Luiz Ramalho, “bridges the gap between emerging digital art and the traditional art world.”

“A collaboration like this is likely to catch the attention of regular people who are largely unaware of the advancements in the Web3 arena… We can persuade them that the art being produced here has merit and that it is impossible to create it without the aid of these modern technologies, according to Ramalho.

A community-elected Curation Commitee has chosen a gallery of NFT artwork for Fingerprints DAO, a decentralised autonomous organisation. Its collection include a number of Larva Labs Autoglyphs, Loot Bags, and other pieces that it has judged “inimitable and irreplaceable.”

The Mercedes-Benz NXT was unveiled last week, and according to Mercedes-Benz, it represents a “long-term commitment to building a dedicated presence within the Web3 community.”

According to its website, the new team wants to cover all of the Mercedes-Benz brands and product portfolio while bringing the digital collectibility of its vehicles and memorabilia.
